Buyers of designers “Lego” the other day faced difficulties when ordering a set 42141 LEGO McLaren Formula 1 Racing Car. On the websites of online stores, a message appeared: “Temporarily out of stock.”
meticulous bloggers Brick Clicker figured out what’s going on with this Lego product. It turned out that the Danish manufacturer organized the re-release of the game set.
It is assumed that such a move is not associated with any technical or design problems found in the model, but with licensing claims. The updated toy will remain the same in shape, details and dimensions as it was presented in the original version. The changes will affect only advertising stickers.
It appears to have been admitted confusion in the list of English sports car sponsors. Therefore, stickers of companies with which the real car manufacturer does not maintain any partnerships appeared in the toy copy. For example, with the Turkish crypto group Bitci, the global asset management company Buzz, the Belarusian Miory Steel, and so on.
In total, the logos of five sponsors will disappear from the body of the supercar. However, the removal of some of them raises questions. So, on the new wheel caps, instead of the previous Pirelli logo, the McLaren logo will be placed. Why this is done is anyone’s guess. After all, this logo of the famous tire manufacturer Pirelli is also used in models from the thematic set 76909 Speed Champions Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance and Mercedes-AMG Project One. However, no such measures are applied to them.
What specific new stickers with sponsors’ logos will appear on the updated model of the car instead of the previous five can be found in the constructor’s assembly guide. The manual is posted on the Lego website.
By the way, these changes make the model of the first version of the McLaren racing car into a unique product that should be of interest, first of all, to collectors.
