Next LEGO CON In-Person Expected

Almost a month after the second online conference LEGO CON this event will be tested again, but in a new format. From July 9 to 10, LEGO CON IRL will take place in the capital of Australia in real time.
A gathering place for construction fans will be the Sydney Exhibition Center. The program is built on the basis of a correspondence conference, that is, there will be presentations of new designers. Only now fans of the brand will be able to see them not through the screens of smartphones, but in physical form. True, the presentation of the two main summer novelties – 75323 LEGO Star Wars Justifier, 10305 LEGO Castle of the Knights of the Lionwill not be there.
Nevertheless, the event will be a significant event, as the participants will be offered a lot of other interesting acquaintances. For example, construction fans will be invited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Friends line, which all these years has been telling different stories from the life of five girlfriends. Master classes, meetings with questions and answers are planned, where you can test your building skills, get practical advice on the methods and secrets of assembling “brick” structures. Competitions will be held where children will be able to offer models of their own developments.
In honor of the brand’s 90th anniversary, a special ‘nostalgic area’ is set to open, featuring some of the key historic pieces from the first LEGO sets, including pieces from the Duplo, Technic, and other themed building sets.
Attendees of the full-time LEGO CON IRL will meet with a truly exclusive model of the event in Sydney – a grand replica of a sports car LEGO F1 McLaren. This life size car is built by local enthusiasts from 288315 Lego pieces. Everyone will have the opportunity not only to look at this miracle, but also to feel like a pilot of a high-speed car, sitting behind the wheel of it.
The Australian LEGO CON IRL, in fact, will become a kind of trial balloon in establishing a new format for communication between the legendary building blocks manufacturer and its consumers. If the Australian experiment is successful, it is likely that such events will become widespread.
