Recently, the Danish company announced a significant expansion and modernization of its headquarters in Billund (Denmark). Construction work on the construction of new buildings will begin in 2023 and be completed in 2025. The expansion will reportedly be carried out using sustainable building materials. In particular, low-carbon steel, concrete, as well as wood will be used.
The project involves the construction of the so-called “Kornmarken Campus”, designed to connect the existing Lego factory with the new building. The newly-made office building will turn into an “Innovation Center”, where innovative products will be born and advanced technologies for the production of designers will be developed.
“In recent years, we have invested heavily in our headquarters in Billund to create a work environment that reflects our brand values and allows LEGO colleagues to be truly inspired and creative. says Nils B. Christiansen, CEO of the LEGO Group, “With this further investment, we are upgrading the workplace for the additional thousands of LEGO employees working at our innovation and product manufacturing headquarters. I’m thrilled to continue our commitment to building the local community in Billund, as well as creating great jobs for all LEGO colleagues.
Among other things, the expansion of the production area by 100,000 square meters will allow the Danish company to gather all the Lego divisions in one place. They are currently based in different areas of Billund.
