Almost half of Lego’s profits in 2021 come from new building blocks

The first half of 2021 has been an incredibly successful financial year for the Danish construction kit manufacturer. At the same time, almost half of the growth in profits, which grew by a fantastic 104% in the first half of the year, the company owes to the sale of products from new projects. Sales volume for 6 months increased by 36%, while revenue grew by 46%. Against the backdrop of a general decline in the performance of other sectors of the economy due to covid restrictions, this success looks more than sensational.

The management of Lego explains such figures by the increased demand not only for products in general, but also in particular for the novelties offered to consumers. The latter, apparently, attracted many newly minted builders into the ranks of design fans.

Third-party experts suggest that the most popular kits that contributed the most to the overall results of the company were the designers of such popular lines as Star Wars, City, Harry Potter, NinjaGo, Technics and Expert “. Even a specific top three of the most economically successful prefabricated sets has been identified: Western bloggers have included 71741 LEGO City Garden NINJAGO game sets of the same series, 75308 LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 and 10278 LEGO City Police Station in this list .
