Since 2015, the Lego company on the eve of the New Year holidays has been releasing a small seasonal set with a figure of an animal according to the Chinese horoscope. And although the Chinese New Year is celebrated from February 1, the next designer will appear on store shelves around December 26. What will be the image of the Year of the Tiger can be understood from the first and so far the only picture of the set’s branded box LEGO 40491 Year of the Tiger on the pages of the official LEGO online store.
In general, in the design of the box with bright colors, only the main character of the coming year has changed — it has become a cute striped tiger cub. He has an envelope in his hands — this means that he will be included in the package of the designer again — the Chinese put money in such as an additional present for the New Year’s gift. Also on the front side of the box there is a place to indicate the name / surname of the recipient and donors.
There is no detailed information (on the number of parts, size of the figurine and cost) of the New Year’s souvenir yet. However, Lego fans are sure that the tiger figure will be identical in size to the characters of previous releases.
The seasonal designer should especially please those who already own the seven figurines of the Chinese Zodiac animals. The toy tiger cub will replenish home collections and collectors will have 4 years until the complete set — until the end of the twelve-year cycle of the Zodiac.
