The Danish manufacturer of Lego blocks together with the company Dungeons & Dragons announced a special competition. The event is held in honor of the 50th anniversary of the fantasy tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons.

The game was first published in 1974 and still remains one of the most popular in the gaming world. Moreover, experienced masters advise beginners to start acquaintance with role-playing games with D&D. Because she has a large fan base and a huge set of material on various topics. After mastering the gaming skills and related materials, it will be much easier to navigate in almost all modern role-playing counterparts.

So, for the upcoming anniversary of the game, Lego decided to release a new constructor. In this case, the official set will be based on the idea that the construction fans will offer. Literally every fan of designers has the opportunity to present his «brick» project on the site LEGO Ideas. Entries based on Dungeons & Dragons stories and characters will be accepted until November 14, 2022 in the following three categories:

— A detailed demo of your favorite character or monster from Dungeons & Dragons.

– functional demo models for players/dungeon masters;

– game locations with customizable D&D elements.

Competition jury composed of team members LEGO Ideas and D&D specialists from Wizards of the Coast will review all submissions and evaluate the authors’ models for their creativity and practicality. In the final stage, experts will select the 5 best works. But the right to determine which of these projects will become the winner of a special competition will be given to all fans of construction — the finalist models will be displayed on the LEGO Ideas website. The work that receives the most votes in its support before December 19, 2022 will be released as an official kit from the Danish manufacturer in 2024.

According to the organizers of the event, all five participants of the final will receive memorable prizes. And yet the most weighty, of course, will be the awards of the winner of the competition. After all, the one who wins this competition, along with everything else, will receive 1% of the sales of his own model in the future. So the game is worth the candle. In any case, many construction fans had a real chance to distinguish themselves by offering original versions of the Dungeons and Dragons board game for the «brick world». Dare!
