Company Raspberry Pi for the first time working on the creation of a computer for Lego robots. It is expected that the new product will be more flexible and more connected than the technologies currently used in LEGO buildable equipment.

The project is called Raspberry Pi Build HAT, which in translation means «Equipment attached from above.» It will connect to the 40-pin GPIO boards of the Raspberry Pi of a personal computer and will allow you to control at least four motors and sensors simultaneously on any Lego vehicle.

What specific advantages does Build HAT have over existing hardware? According to the developer, Build HAT is quite flexible in terms of its design potential — it can be attached to any part of the model and set up to manage direct connection to a computer. As you know, current hubs require special programming involving a separate PC or tablet. That is, the novelty easily connects a mouse, keyboard and monitor, which is extremely convenient for setting up and controlling the Lego device.
