Lego combines 2 spare parts services

Good news for construction fans who like to create original models from blocks. The Lego company announced the start combining services “Stones and details” and “Choose a brick”. Starting in February, buyers in Germany, France, and the UK will be able to order the right LEGO parts by visiting just one online Pick a Brick site. The exact timing of the merger has not been named, but for sure – the merger will take place this year.

2 separate services give visitors a lot of inconvenience when searching and choosing building materials. First of all, due to the fact that you need to spend a lot of time visiting each site. The maximum volumes of orders were different. A single focal point should eliminate these and other problems.

The updated service will consist of two sections: “Bestsellers” and “Standard”. The first contains 1600 items. The difference of the second one is that it offers a wider assortment, which is still sold in the “Stones and Parts” service.

Along with this merger, the Danish company will test a new service called Build a Mini. It will allow fans of the “brick world” to build and order their own figures from given minifigure figures. However, it uses special items that are not available in Pick a Brick.

In general, the Build a Mini service will become a kind of digital analogue of the well-known Build a Minifigure Tower service, which is offered in LEGO retail outlets. Thus, the novelty equalizes the chances of all construction fans, because it makes it possible to use the original service, even if there is no Lego branded store nearby.
