The founder of the federal network of toy stores TOY.RU, Alisa Lobanova, in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, shared her thoughts on what the suspension of deliveries of the Danish company’s products to Russia could lead to. Now there are more than 40 stores under the sign LEGO Brick World announced a temporary suspension of activities or completely closed for economic reasons. Most other networks are actively optimizing their costs.

So far, there is no talk of closing Lego representative offices in the Russian Federation. However, if the situation develops in the same vein, then the vacated place will be taken by toy manufacturers from China.

– In the Chinese market, you can find almost any constructors, said Alisa Lobanova, – exact copies of LEGO sets, analogues from lego-compatible parts, own developments of some companies, which in quality and price no longer differ much from the original.

Among Russians, «military kits» of Chinese manufacturers are very popular — similar designers Lego, as you know, does not release. At the same time, prefabricated kits from the Middle Kingdom, not inferior to Danish ones in terms of quality, differ in cost. whatever you say, but they are 2-3 times cheaper.

Alisa Lobanova also named companies from other countries whose products are able to compete with Legov’s. In particular, she noted:

— The closest analogues can be considered Megablocks from Mattel, designers from the Belarusian company Polesie and the Russian-German enterprise Bauer. But LEGO DUPLO is still the market leader in the 0-4 year segment with more interesting sets using Disney licenses, superheroes and the famous railroad. DUPLO.
